After a visit to the Torpedo Factory
(Alexandria, VA’s premiere artists showcase), Missy Brigance set her
sights upon launching a similar artist showcase in Historic
Roswell’s Art District. She, along with 4 like-minded artists,
re-created this unique art experience, on a much smaller scale. In
August 2007, the artists opened their “Two Doors” to reveal not only
an Art Gallery, but also Working Artist Studios. The environment
allows patrons to get the full experience of how each artist creates
their original works of art. The casual atmosphere lends itself, to
having the artists accessible to interact with each patron.
Each artist maintains their own gallery, within their individual
studio space. Currently, art mediums vary from Oil, Acrylic,
Encaustic, Photograms, to Mixed Media. Each artist has a different
style, palette, and subject of interest. There is a wide selection
of original art to choose from or to commission. The goal is to
continue to expand Two Doors Art with various types of artisans;
creating a diverse arts venue under one roof. |
